Dochu
The village of Dochu (42°23′24″ N, 45°33′20″ E) is located in the Eastern Georgia, in Akhmeta Municipality, Kakheti Region, in the historical part of Tusheti, Chaghma community, on the south slope of the Makratella ridge separating Tush Alazani and reverse Alazani, at 2050m above sea level, 102 kilometers away from Akhmeta.
Dochu was granted the status of a cultural heritage monument as a late medieval architectural structure. The relevant order was issued by the Director of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia on October 28, 2016. According to the legal act, the exact boundaries of the monument were also determined. There are 6 real monuments of cultural heritage in the village.
The village of Dochu is distinguished by three-storey houses and an abundance of balconies. Dochu is cultivated on rock Kim. It is also called the village of warriors "grown" on the peak.
The Dochu villagers did not have a master. Their mission was to be the first to notice the enemy from the peak, the first to fall and either win or be killed, thus saving those who were behind them. It was to accomplish this mission that here the mothers would put woods in the ground and tie the toddlers to the top, so that they would not be trampled anywhere and would not slip into the rock.
As soon as toddlers could walk, they were already trained in sword wielding. The more bruises on the body, the better the man was! It is also said that no one had the right to pick up a child tied to a string on a wood, because by being accustomed to being on the ground, he did not leave the base of war operations in the future.
